Australia's first Topcon 3D-Xi "indicator" 3D GPS+-based control system for excavators has increased productivity and efficiency by up to 50% on a riverside project for Sydney-based contractor Ford Civil Contracting Pty Ltd.
"We are getting productivity increases of about 50% on the seawall construction, and between 20 and 30% on the other boxing out and shaping activities," said Ford Civil's managing director Stuart Ford. "Those are very real efficiency and productivity gains we are achieving.
